Employees and their dependent family members receive a limited number of confidential counseling sessions per year per incident. Trouble sometimes strikes the same person, thus an employee who experiences more than one troubling incident in the same year can continue to receive support.
Employees who leave organization are covered for 30 days after their last day of work.
Ideally, counseling sessions are conducted face-to-face, though if the client would prefer, he or she could set up a telephone counseling session.
The brief counseling offers support, problem evaluation & assessment, teaches coping skills and problem solving techniques, and other means of help. If outside assistance is needed, the counselor or EAP staff may refer employees to other professionals who may be covered by insurance.
