Frequently Asked Questions
What is an EAP?

An EAP is a confidential counseling and referral service available through your employer that can help you, your spuse, and dependents.

Who can use the EAP?

Employees, their spouse, household members, and dependents. Employees are covered for 30 days after they’ve left the organization. Ideally, counseling sessions are conducted face-to-face, though he or she could set up a telephone counseling session. Assistance by email is available, though is not as effective as face-to-face or phone counseling.

How do I schedule an appointment?

Appointments can be scheduled by calling either the local number (970-242-9536) or toll free number (1-877-679-1100), from 8 am – 6 pm (MST), Monday – Friday. You may also send us an e-mail. In case of a clinical emergency you can call either number anytime, 24 hours a day, seven days a week -- from wherever you are -- and talk to a therapist.

Will I be charged for using the EAP?

No. Your employer is providing this benefit to you and your family as a benefit. For help beyond the scope of the EAP you may be referred to another resource and you would be responsible for fees resulting from your use of resources outside the EAP. We will help you find a solution that fits your budget and issue. An EAP benefit is made available to you at no charge because your employer wants you to succeed both as an employee and in your personal life.

Is the EAP just for problems at work?

No. You can use the EAP to help you deal with personal concerns, whether or not they have a direct impact on your work performance, as well as for problems at work.

Should I use the EAP for crises only?

No. The EAP can help you sort through whatever is happening in your life, big or small. Call if you simply need a new perspective, or when you need help recognizing options and making informed choices. It takes courage to confront and deal with a problem that may even have been festering for many years.

What will my employer know about my counseling visit?

TRIAD doesn’t report client NAMES to your employer. Webster’s Dictionary defines confidential as "entrusted with confidence." When you or a loved one comes in for an EAP counseling visit, you can trust that we are bound by the highest standards of the mental health profession. The only information your employer sees is the number of people and visits, gender, & whether the visits were for personal, or financial reasons, or a supervisory referral.
